Welcome to Fourth Grade!
Happy Easter! Happy Spring!
Friday, April 16 will be my last day. At that time I will begin my maternity
leave and will be out for the remainder of the year. I have already begun
working with a substitute to ensure a smooth transition. She will be
knowledgeable of classroom routines, expectations, curriculum, and grading
policies. Thank you for a wonderful year. I have enjoyed working with your
child and appreciate all of your support.
Academic Fair/Class 410 Poster Project
The Academic Fair is Thursday, April 15 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Children are
expected to arrive in school uniform to present their projects to parents and
visitors who will be walking throughout the school. The topic for Class 410 is
National Parks. Students have been completing a research project during
school using the Independent Investigation Method (IIM). Students have created
brochures with their computer teacher, Ms. Walsh. In addition, they have
created clay sculptures of various parks with their art teacher, Ms. Gregg.
Students will create a life-size brochure that they produced in computer class
at home using a tri-board. The tri-board can be any color and should feature
the same facts that they used for their brochure in computer class. Students
can write the facts directly on the poster board or type them and then glue
them on the tri-board. Students can search for pictures of their park, print
and glue them on their tri-board, or they can draw their own original artwork
directly on the tri-board. The tri-board will be completed at home. I will
build time into the homework schedule so that students have time to complete
their projects. Final copies (written report) are due Monday, April 12 and can
be handwritten or typed. The tri-board is due Tuesday, April 13.
