Welcome to Nursery !
We are so happy to have your children with us each day for fun filled
activities in our nurturing environment. Please check your child's mailbox
each day for notices and the wonderful work the children create.
Please remember to dress your child accordingly with the weather. Also check
your childs cubby to make sure that they have a spare set of
summer/fall clothes for any little accidents that may occur.
Classroom News
During the month of January we celebrated the New Year with lots of fun. The
children enjoyed the unit on the Gingerbread Man. They recreated the
Gingerbread man story and played games. The children also compared stories
of the Gingerbread man written by different authors. We read the Gingerbread
Man by Jim Ayesworth, The Gingerbread Man by Bonnie and Bill Rutherford,
Gingerbread Baby and Gingerbread Friends by Jan Brett. The children played
with ginger scented play dough and baked and decorated a giant gingerbread
man cake! The calendar and weather bear were introduced. In Religion - the
children are learning to recognize their uniqueness by becoming aware of
their senses. We are having a lot of fun exploring our senses by learning
songs, tasting different foods, listening to sounds, touching different
textures, seeing through a variety of kaleidoscopes and binoculars, and

Looking Ahead
• We will celebrate Valentine’s Day on Monday February 13th and Tuesday
February 14th. We ask that you or your child simply sign their name on the
Valentine cards. This makes delivery quicker and easier.

Special
All children are welcome to join us on March 7th for a special day featuring
BugWorks.
The culture committee has once again given us a special opportunity to
experience the world around us.
