Flat Stanley

 FLAT STANLEY BY KEN BROWN

FLAT STANLEY IS A BOOK ABOUT A YOUNG BOY NAMED STANLEY LAMBCHOP WHO IS ACCIDENTALLY SQUISHED "AS FLAT AS A PANCAKE" WHEN A BULLETIN BOARD FALLS ON HIM.  STANLEY IS VERY, VERY FLAT BUT OTHERWISE FINE.  THE STORY GOES ON TO TELL HOW STANLEY DISCOVERS SOME REAL ADVANTAGES TO BEING FLAT.  HE CAN SLIDE UNDER DOORS, GO DOWN SIDWALK GRATES AND EVEN FOLD HIMSELF UP SMALL ENOUGH TO BE MAILED TO CALIFORNIA FOR AN EXCITING VACATION.

March 4 - We have started our Flat Stanley project by writing friendly letters to people who we would like to be a host to Flat Stanley. All children will need to bring in a self-addressed, stamped legal size envelope to the person they have chosen to host Flat Stanley.  These envelopes are due the week of March 4-8. Please be sure to write a return address on the envelope.  The return address may either be your home address or the school address (I have found in the past that it is very exciting for the children to receive their response at school but it is entirely up to your child where they would like the information to be sent) The children are very excited about this project and we can't wait to learn about our Flat Stanley travels.
