In May:
The children have passed the first half of the school year. More is being
expected of them. They know the classroom routine and are expected to follow
it. We are now in preparation for the next preschool level. The goal is to
get them ready. To do this, I am asking that you ask your child to attempt
doing things for themselves. They have all learned how to put on their coat,
how to open and close a lunch box, how to clean up their own mess and how to
put their toys and belongings away. These are milestones that they are
working on everyday and need your assistance in this also. Please try and
allow your child to do things on his or her own. It is best that they at
least try. If we know your child can accomplish a task on his or her own
then we will simply say, "That's your job now because you are a big boy or
girl." We have seen some great independence from many of the students and we
want to keep seeing the independence. Give it a try. You might be suprised
how much your child can do. :)
