Subcomittees

In an effort to streamline our meetings, we have instituted various subcommittees to address the many events and initiatives that we are working on this school year. Parents have signed up for the subcommittees they were interested in and the subcommittees meet at the discretion of the subcommittee chairperson; separate from our regular monthly meeting. At our monthly meeting, each subcommittee chair will update the attendees as to the status of each area. New volunteers and/or suggestions for the subcommittees are always welcome. Just contact the chairperson of each committee as noted below. You will also find out what exactly YOU can do to help at any one event. Remember - you do not have to attend our meetings to be a valuable volunteer and asset to our school. Sign up for what you CAN do...and make a difference!
 
We hope you will find this new format effective and useful to maximize the efficiency of our meetings.
 
Talent Show 5/16 & 17 (completed)
Although there is not a full subcommittee for this event, many volunteers are needed to help ensure this event runs smoothly. With tickets, refreshments, set up, backstage crew and breaking down - we need your help! Also, most fun of all, is that all parents are welcome to participate in this year's PTO Number!

Merchandising Subcommittee (completed)
This committee is working on designing St. Francis Xavier items (such as hats, wind shirts or bags) that will be sold as a fund-raiser but, more importantly, will show our school spirit and promote the name and identity of our school.

Parent/Teacher Survey Subcommittee (completed)
This committee is reviewing the feedback from our Parent/Teacher survey last school year and making suggestions as to how we can best utilize your input to make continuous improvements.

Cold Blooded Pets 9/23/08 (completed)
A volunteer sheet was circulated seeking assistance with set-up, break-down, activities and refreshements.

Candy Bar Bingo 10/17/08 @ 6:30 (completed)
This committee is working on creating this new family-friendly event to bring parents and children together for a night of fun. You can help by donating bottled water, baking desserts and packing them in small/individual serving bags, helping us set up at 5:45 or staying to help us clean up when the event is done.

SFX Marketplace 11/15/08 (completed)
After a very successful event last year, we have 11 returning vendors and even more on the slate. Volunteers are needed for various roles.

Santa's Breakfast 12/14/08 (completed)
Always a favorite event, volunters are needed for everything from setup and breakdown to decorating and seeking donations.
