About The Teacher

As an alum of St. Joseph School, I can honestly say that my job was my
childhood dream. I remember the warm feeling I got each morning as I rounded
the corner toward the playground and entered the building. I adored every
one of my teachers, especially the Sisters of St. Joseph who occupied both
classes of five out of eight grades. (There was no kindergarten at SJS way
back then.) We loved to watch as the sisters came and went between school
and the convent. We learned early on to offer to carry their bags.
Since then, my younger brother and my only child have also graduated
from St. Joe's. My career path did not lead directly to the front door of
132 High St. But happily, a slightly longer road led me around the block to
the back door of the very building where my favorite teachers lived. I've
been part of the preschool staff since we opened in 1999. Although I
sometimes wish that I could teach one group all the way through eighth
grade, I can't imagine anything better than my (mostly) four year olds.
I am a graduate of Boston University and Cambridge College. Besides
teaching, I enjoy being a mom, wife, daughter, sister, and fan of the Red
Sox, Patriots, and Celtics.
I am truly blessed to be entering my 12th school year with Mrs. Nancy
Durkee. She is both a trusted coworker and wonderful friend. And our team
wouldn't be complete without Mrs. Andrea McEleney who begins her second full
year with us.

Mission For The Class

We hope that our class will love to learn and will come to
appreciate everything in the world around them as gifts from God. We'd like
them to appreciate each other and value their friendships. We want them to
have wonderful memories of preschool, and to look forward to the school
years ahead of them.
