Helpful Information

Arrival and Dismissal: The Kindergarten children line up outside with the
rest of the school. I will meet the children outside at 8:10 a.m..

The children will be dismissed at 2:45 p.m. from the same yard. Your child
will only be released to the people you designate on the dismissal sheet or
emergency card.

Lunch: The children will eat with the 1st, 2nd and 3rd grades starting in
October.

Snack: The Kindergarten schedule has morning snack. In order to avoid
confusing snacks with lunches, please send the snack in a separate bag
clearly labeled "snack".

Specialists: Kindergarten participates in Music, Art, Library, Computer and PE

Daily Binders: Children will bring binders home each day. Depending on the
day, they will have pre-decodable books and/or homework along with parent
information. Please check these binders daily.
Read and return appropriate papers in this binder.

Homework: We have a homework folder this year. Each Friday the folder is
brought to school to be checked by the teacher. It is returned to the
students on Monday morning.

Notes: Notes are required for the following reasons:
	Absences/illness
	Early dismissal for doctor appointments
Different person picking the student up from school

Conferences: In January the children receive Progress Reports. Conferences
are planned to discuss your child's progress and offer you ideas on how to
help your child succeed.
You may also schedule additional conferences by sending a note or emailing me.

Other Important Information

Dressing for School: As of September 2009 the kindergarten class will wear
the school uniform. On Gym day the children wear the school gym uniform.

Medications: The school nurse will administer all medications. Please
contact the nurse if your child is to be given any medicine during school
hours. If your child has asthma, you may want to consider leaving a spare
inhaler with the nurse. Do not send medicine to school in your child's
bookbag.

Birthdays: I encourage you to donate a new book (St. Paul's has a birthday
book program), video or game to the class. In the past parents have wrapped
this and sent it in with the child. Due to allergies, we discourage food
being sent in 30 times over the school year.
