Social Studies-- We have been learning about the journey the Pilgrims took
and why they came. We will be working on Pilgrim journals when we come back.
Math- We have completed Unit 5 on area. We will move on to Unit 6 about
subtraction and addition after break.
Writing- We will be using writing time to work on our Pilgrim writing. The
children will be writing in journal style from the perspective of a Pilgrim.
Reading- During small group reading, I have been working with the children to
learn how to determine the main idea of a passage. We are applying this
understanding in Social Studies.
Handwriting- We have learned the first 5 uppercase cursive letters. We will
move on next week. The chidlren are now beginning to trace their cursive
spelling words in preparation of writing their spelling homework in cursive.
Save the Date: Tuesday, November 24, 9AM. The children will present a
poetry sharing in the classroom.
