Welcome to semester one of the 2007-2008 school year! I hope everyone
enjoyed their summer. A course syllabus can be found in the Handouts

The following are the assignments for the week of 9/10/07 - 9/14/07:
1)Students are to define key terms on page 35 of textbook in MS Word.
Students can use www.webopedia.com or the textbook to obtain the
definitions. Students should save file as "chapter 1 key terms".
2)Students are to answer chapter 1 review questions in MS Word. All answers
can be found in textbook. Students should save file as "chapter 1 review
questions".
3) Students are to work in groups to build a 3-D model of what the inside of
a computer is supposed to look like. Students should refer to the website:
www.kids-online.net for a reference.
The following are the assignments for the week of 9/17/07 - 9/21/07:
Students are to complete all assignments in a timely manner. Students are
to show respect and cooperate with Mrs. Marcucci as she substitutes for Mr.
Raposa. Any student who is not respectful and is disruptive in any way will
be dealt with when Mr. Raposa returns to school on September 24th.
1)Students are to continue to work in groups to build their 3-D models of

4)Students should work on thinking critically on page 36-37, (questions 1-
5). Type out questions and save file as "thinking critically chapter 1".
5)Students should work on the Hands-On Projects on page 37, (projects 1-1,1-
2,1-3).
The following are the assignments for the week of 10/1/07 - 10/5/07:
1) Students are to work on Technology Jobs assignment.
2) Students are to work on How PCs work assignment found in handouts section
of teacher web.
3) Quiz on vocab terms Wednesday.
4) Test on chapter 1 Friday.
The following are the assignments for the week of 10/9/07 - 10/12/07:
1) Students are to complete chapter 1 summary brochures..
2) Students are to define Chapter 2 vocab terms on page 64 of textbook.
3) Students are to complete Chapter 2 worksheet review questions. (1-26)
The following are the assignments for the week of 10/15/07 - 10/19/07:
1) Students are to complete CT Training disk 2. Student are to type out 14
questions in MS Word pertaining to the 14 slideshows they are watching.
2) Students are to define Chapter 2 vocab terms on page 64 of textbook.
3) Students are to complete Chapter 2 worksheet review questions. (1-26)
4) Students are to complete Chapter 2 Reviewing the Basics questions on page
65-66. (Questions 1-25)
The following are the assignments for the week of 10/22/07 - 10/26/07:
1) Students are to complete the study guide for chapter 2
2) Students are to complete video worksheet for chapters 1 & 2.
3) Students are to continue with CT Training disk 2.
Thursday, October 25, 2007:
Students are to create a crossword puzzle in MS Excel. Students should use
20 vocab terms form chapter 2 page 64, 10 accross and 10 down. Students
must also type out definitions in MS Word to coordinate with the crossword
puzzle. Reminder, there will be a test on chapter 2 Friday.
The following are the assignments for the week of 10/29/07 - 11/2/07:
1) Chapter 2 Test
2) Students are to copy table 2.1 on page 46 and table 2.2 on page 47-48
into MS Excel. Save this file as reference guide.
3)Students are to define chapter 3 terms on page 112. Save the file as
chapter 3 vocab.
The following are the assignments for the week of 11/13/07 - 11/16/07:
1) Students are to define chapter 3 terms on page 112. Save the file as
chapter 3 vocab.
2) Students are to create a PC Assembly Guide using MS Publisher. Students
are to refer to pages 117-122, project 3-9 in orange textbook and pages 136-
141, case project in blue textbook.
3) Students are to work on CT Training, next 14 questions with answers.
Students should have a total of 28 questions completed.
4) Students are to complete Chapter 3 Reviewing the Basics questions on
pages 112-113. (Questions 1-25)
The following are the assignments for the week of 11/26/07 - 11/30/07:
Monday, November 26th:
1) Students are to work on Chapter 3 worksheet review questions. Students
are to type out questions and save the file in MS Word. Students should
save file as "chap 3 review questions."
Thursday, November 29th:
1) Students are to continue working on "How to build a PC PowerPoint
Presentation.
The following are the assignments for the week of 12/17/07 - 12/21/07:
1) Students are to complete the PC Building assignment in Tigerdirect.com
Wednesday, December 19th:
1)Students are to finish the build a pc estimate project. Once assignment is
complete:
2)Students are to define vocabulary terms for chapter 4 in MS Word.
Students who have the orange book will find the terms on page 187 and
students who use the blue book will find the terms on page 201. Students
should save the file as chapter 4 vocab.
The following are the assignments for Tuesday, January 22nd:
1) Students are to work on the Final Exam Study Guide which can be
downloaded from the handouts link on Teacherweb. Students are to save this
file as "Final Exam Study Guide."
2) If students complete the study guide, they are to continue working on
Testout / Hardware CD simulation.
