What are your classroom expectations?
I expect all students to come to class prepared, listen when I
am teaching, complete their homework, and ask meaningful questions.
Will you accept late homework assignments?
No, TPS policy is no late homework assignments will be accepted.
After three missed homework assignments from any unit, you will
receive an academic detention. You will spend 45 minutes
completing a meaningful assignment relating to the material of the
unit. You will not receive credit for this assignment.
Can I make up a quiz or a test?
Yes. My hope is for you to learn. You will be allowed to make up
quizzes provided there is time before the quarter
ends. Please see me prior to a retake to receive help on any
incorrect questions from the quiz. The questions will not be the
same! I will record the higher of the two grades in the gradebook.
Chapter Tests may not be retaken.
How will you determine my quarter grade?
7th Grade Students
*20% Homework
*30% Quizzes
*50% Tests
8th Grade Students
*15% Homework
*35% Quizzes
*50% Tests
Both 7th and 8th Grade - projects will be assigned, and at that
time I will let you know if I will record it as a quiz or test
grade.
Do you offer extra credit?
Extra Credit will be offered before every Chapter Test. You will receive credit for taking an
online 20 question practice test. Five points will be awarded
for scoring 20/20, Four points for 19/20, three points for 18/20,
two points for 17/20, and one point for 16/20. No extra credit
will be awarded for 15 or fewer correct. All work must be shown
on a separate sheet of paper and attached to the printed and
corrected online tests. You may email me your corrected test and
bring in the work as well.
Are you available for extra help?
Yes, I am available for extra help. I am available most
mornings at 7:30 a.m. and Thursday afterschool.
Will you assign homework everyday?
Yes, I typically assign homework daily.
How will I know that you're giving a quiz or a test?
I have a classroom calendar as you enter my door for the current
month that shows all quiz and test dates. You should expect a
quiz each week. My website is updated daily and will have the dates of all assessments.
