-When you open the binder you should be able to see the leaf page on one side and the description on the other
-Do NOT put the description on the back of the leaf page
-You should be able to picture the seed from the description of it
-Descriptions can be done in bullet form
-Make sure you have the minimum requirements for descriptions
-When describing needles consider the following: Is the needle circular, flat or triangular?, Is the needle narrow or wide?, Is the needle single or in a bundle?
-Don't use yellow ink-it is difficult to read
-Remove the fruit around the gingko seed
-Seal black walnut seeds well inside a ziploc bag
-Don't forget to have an interesting title
-Don't forget a table of contents
-Group similar leaves together
-Separate evergreens and deciduous
-Completely cover evergreen samples so needles do not fall out of project
-Don't forget to turn in your leaf notes with the final project
