There will be homework each week, Monday through Thursday. Students will be introduced to our
"homework chart" system. Each morning when students bring in their homework, they put a sticker by
their names on the homework chart. When a child has 20 stickers on the chart, he or she will receive a
"homework pass" good for one night free of homework. This pass can be used any time except for large
projects. Passes can be saved up, but only one pass can be used within a week's time.
Homework should not take longer than 1 hour each night, including reading time. If your child is stuck
or frustrated, please don't push past an hour of trying. For math homework, the front side of the paper
is the Practice, which I expect everyone to complete. The back side is the Extension, which I would like
everyone to try. Some are harder than others, so your child may or may not be able to complete the
Extension, and that's ok. If parent help is given, please initial or write a note to tell me help was
needed/given.
