All parents and/or guardians of the J. R. Lowell School students and all
faculty members of the school are members of the J.R. Lowell School PTO.
The James Russell Lowell School Parent Teacher's Organization (PTO) is a non-
commercial, non-sectarian, and non-partisan, 501(c)3 organization that shall
provide support and promote excellence in education by developing a sense of
community and teamwork among parents/guardians and teachers at the J.R.
Lowell School.
The PTO Executive Board is made up of a President, Vice-President, Treasurer
and Secretary. They are joined by Grade Level Coordinators representing the
viewpoint of his/her grade-level and acting as a liaison to the officers of
the PTO.
Homeroom Representatives (Room Parents) are also an important part of the
PTO. There are usually one or two volunteers per classroom who work with the
teacher to help with any classroom based activities and will keep
communications open with the Grade Level Coordinators and inform them of any
problems/concerns or special events.
