Classroom Allergy Information

CLASSROOM ALLERGY INFORMATION
This year, 3-W is a nut-restricted classroom.   

Students in our class have life threatening allergies to peanuts and nuts. It 
is imperative that allergic children not come in contact with any form of 
peanut or nut product.  That being said:

     *Please send only peanut-free and nut-free snacks and lunches.  If a
      label reads “may contain peanuts”, it is a potential threat.
     *If a product is not labeled, please assume that it is NOT safe.
     *If you send any food to the classroom to be shared with the entire
      class, if possible, please send a list of ingredients or the package. 
     *If your child had food that contained peanuts prior to school, please 
      have your child wash his/her hands, face and teeth before coming to  
      school.  

The following is a list of ACCEPTABLE snacks for our classroom:
     Fruits and Vegetables
     Raisins
     Oreo Cookies (not peanut-filled)
     Fig Newton Cookies
     Pepperidge Farm Fish Snack Crackers
     Smart Food Popcorn
     Doritos
     Fritos
     Cape Cod Potato Chips
     Wheat Thins (original)
     Triscuits (original)
     Jello
     Yogurt
     Snack Pack Chocolate or Vanilla Pudding
     Applesauce
     String Cheese
     Bread Sticks
     Ritz Crackers (original)
     Saltines
     Celery Sticks with Cheese
     Snackwells Cereal Bars
     Teddy Grahams
     Nutri-Grain Bars
     Pop Tarts
     Rice Cakes (caramel corn, apple cinnamon, cheddar cheese, chocolate)

Ms. Hanks, the school nurse, is available to answer any questions regarding 
this matter.  Please do not hesitate to call her at 781-979-2282.

We truly appreciate your understanding and cooperation.  This is 
a situation that must be taken seriously to allow for a safe and healthy 
school year for all of the children.
