I have been a Melrose resident for more than 25 years. Two of my four
children currently attend Melrose Public Schools. My educational background
includes a BA, from Lesley University, with a major in Human Development and
a minor in Early Childhood Education - with and without disabilities. I also
hold a Master of Education degree from Lesley University with a major in
Curriculum & Instruction, and a specialization in Literacy.
My educational experience includes teaching Pre-K at the Early Childhood
Center in Melrose, and several years of substitute teaching in grades Pre-K
through 5, including special education. This is my fifth year teaching
second grade, and I am very excited to be working in a co-taught classroom
with Miss Bates.
Some things I enjoy doing include spending time with my family ; reading;
visiting the Melrose Public Library; listening to many
different genres of music; reading; dancing; nature walks; attending
workshops; and did I say reading?
One of my goals is to hone in on my students' development of thinking and
problem solving skills. I plan on reaching that goal by teaching my students
to think critically using 21st Century skills.
