FAQ

This page will answer questions commonly asked by students and parents.
  1. How is the Home Economics fee used in class?
  2. My student keeps asking for food for something called free friday what is that?

How is the Home Economics fee used in class?

The fee you pay is matched by the province and becomes a $40 injection into the Home Economics program.
This allows me to buy fresh, wholesome ingredients as much as possible. Imagine feeding 25 students per week on a budget of
less than a thousand dollars covering a period of five months now multiply that figure by three classes of students who
want to cook and eat at the same time trying to ensure we use the best ingredients possible.

My student keeps asking for food for something called free friday what is that?

Free Friday is the day of the week that students get to plan and prepare a meal of their choice. This is done in a meeting
of the kitchen group. Students take turns bringing in ingredients to cook on Fridays no student should continually be
supplying the food on a Friday this is a shared responsibility and requires planning and communication skills in the kitchen groups.
