Check out the videos that I've found of songs with the lyrics included. Dictées will start in a few weeks, after parent and teacher meetings.


Math:

Unfinished work may be sent home to be completed. If one evening is not sufficient time, please send the completed work a.s.a.p.

Math games can be kept for 2 evenings if one is not enough. Please take care that all the pieces are placed back into the pouch. Thank you. I enjoy reading the feedback about the games. Thanks again!


English Language Arts:

STUDENTS READING BETWEEN LEVELS 5 AND 16: I suggest that students reread their selected books enough to attain a smooth and expressive voice. THOSE STUDENTS currently reading longer books or chapter books must focus on fluency and comprehension. Parents with your child, please talk about the books he or she is selecting, check for understanding, or create new stories based on that reading and show them that you are pleased and interested. 

No time to read with your child? Don't panic! Continue the reading program the following day. If your child forgets to bring a book home read a magazine article together, a recipe, or something off the computer. Just jot it down in the READING RECORD BOOK if possible.

***3 HAPPY FACES AT ONE LEVEL allows your young reader to move up a level. I may not always be checking each student. Have them be aware of their status. Thanks!

I CAN READ! The words chosen for spelling test are also sight words. Please use the ‘I Can Read’ word list supplied each week to help your child study.
