Intern/Mentor Program: Quarter 1 Assignments

August 31-September 11:
Mandatory classes each day during the Intern/Mentor Program
All supplies should be purchased and accounted for prior to the start of the
internship.
September 2:
Letter of introduction* –10 points
September 9 (10/PD 4A):
Four annotated bibliographies – 40 points
Howard County General Hospital Orientation at 2:00pm at the Wellness
Center
September 14
Reflection sheet 1.1 –10 points
Mentor visits begin if internship paperwork and start-up meeting are
complete. Students not placed will begin research in the media center.
September 17 (16/PD 4A):
Mandatory seminar during assigned class period; the following assignments are
due:
Four annotated bibliographies – 40 points
Journal entries and reflection sheet 1.2 – 20 points
Time sheet (submit even if not placed-document research time)—10 pts
October 1:
Mandatory seminar during assigned class period; the following assignments are
due:
Four annotated bibliographies – 40 points
Journal entries and reflection sheet 1.3 – 20 points
October 13:
Mandatory seminar during assigned class period; the following assignments are
due:
Four annotated bibliographies – 40 points
Journal entries and reflection 1.4 – 20 points
October 20:
Preliminary Research Proposal* due – 40 points
October 26-30:
Each student will have a conference with Ms. Kelly to rehearse their
presentation.
Preparation for the Oral Presentation scheduled with Mrs. Kelly—30
points
November 3:
Mandatory seminar during assigned class period; the following assignments are
due:
Journal Summary initialed by mentor –20 points
Time sheet initialed by mentor and parent– 50 points
Mentor Evaluation – 290 points
