Each morning the students respond to a prompt written on the board and write
in their "Blogs." Here are some of our recent thoughts!!
A TIME I FELT PROUD OF MYSELF WAS…
A time I felt proud of myself was when I read sixty seven pages in 30
minutes. It happened two nights ago. After that, my mom made me go to bed.
I started at 8:46 and I had to go to bed at 9:16. It was fun.
--Carter
I was very happy the time that I did a play. I was happy because I was one
of the main characters in it. I also gave people my autograph. We had
cupcakes, fruit punch, and pizza.
--Aden
I’M THE KIND OF PERSON WHO…
I’m the kind of person who is obsessed with soccer. If there is a
professional soccer game on, I’ll watch it. I always have a soccer ball at
my feet when I’m not busy. I have scored 15 goals in the season.
--Uriel
I’m the kind of person who gets scared easily. Like when I know my sister is
about to scare me, I still get scared. If somebody closes the door,
sometimes I get scared. If it’s late at night and I hear a creak, I get
scared. So I get scared easily.
--Jessie
I am the kind of person who is trustworthy. I know this because when every
time my family asks me to do something I always do it. I’m also a very
curious person. I know because I love to explore my house. I’m glad to be
me!
--Giovanna
I’m the kind of person who doesn’t let you touch my stuff.
--Hannah
I’m the kind of person who loves money so much. I like money because it
feels good. It looks cool. It sounds good when you shake it. You can buy
something with it.
--Philip
I am the kind of person who is calm. I am sometimes serious. People call me
cute, nice, pretty, and kind. So I am a lot of things.
--Christine
I WISH MY PARENTS WOULD LET ME…
I wish my parents would let me watch “Lord of the Rings” every day. I
love “Lord of the Rings” because the little guys have big hairy feet. I also
like it because it has action. My favorite part is when Sméagol bit off
Frodo’s finger and Sam pushed Sméagol and the ring fell off and Mordor the
bad place exploded.
--Ben
I wish my parents would let me have a “leave home” pass, because I could walk
to my friend’s houses, and go other places. Also, I would go for a jog and
get some lunch so I wouldn’t have to bug my parents for lunch. I’d have an
excuse to get out of my crazy household. I can annoy my parents by leaving
while they have work.
--Maya
WHEN I WANT TO BE ALONE, I…
If I wanted to be alone, I would like to east a snack and watch TV at the
same time. I do not want Mom to disturb me. I already have done my homework
so I can relax.
--Matty
When I want to be alone, I always talk to my pet guinea pig Theo. They
understand humans. Or I fall asleep and forget everything. My teddy bears
have a voice so they can talk. And I never talk to that person if I want to
be alone. I have a lot to say but I always go see my parents.
--Anna
SOMETHING NEW I WOULD LIKE TO TRY IS…
Something new I want to try is to go to New York City. I want to go there
because both of my sisters have been there. Also, I want to go to the candy
store and the giant toy store. In New York I also want to go to Broadway to
see a play. I also want to go to Times Square and go to the shops.
--Carter
Something new I would like to try is waterskiing because waterskiing looks
exciting and fun…or maybe sky diving...you think I’m going too far? As I was
saying, maybe break a world record so I can get famous and get my picture in
the Guinness World Records. Or probably try to make a sandwich with my feet,
because making sandwiches with your feet is really messy and fun! The last
new thing I’d want to do is visit Paris, France.
--Maya
WHEN I WAS LITTLE, I LIKED TO PLAY WITH…
When I was little, I liked to play card games like “Go Fish” and stuff. My
favorite card game was “War.” In “War,” you each draw a card and whoever has
the highest card wins the card. Now I don’t like them anymore.
--Carter
When I was little, I loved to play with bugs. Whenever my brothers saw a bug—
like a cicada or worm—they always used to scream. But I’d just pick up the
bug and let it crawl on my shoulder. My mom said I definitely don’t have
things in common with her because she doesn’t like bugs. I agree.
--Maya
When I was little, I liked to play with my brothers Zech, Kiddo, and John.
We used to have a basketball hoop in our house—a little one. But I couldn’t
make a shot and still they let me win! And when I was still a baby I
wrestled my dad. I used to play a reading game with my mom. I loved when I
was a baby.
--Anna
When I was little I liked to play with my stuffed animals. I used to name
some of my stuffed animals. Some of my most special stuffed animals still
have names. Sometimes I would play dress up with them. Sometimes I would
use my stuffed animals to hit my brother.
--Sneha
MY IDEA OF A PERFECT WEEKEND IS WHEN…
My idea of a perfect weekend is when I get to have a sleepover and go to Club
Friday on Friday. On Saturday I go to Dave and Buster’s with a friend and
ride my scooter for an hour and have tacos for dinner. On Sunday, I go to
the mall and get $50.00 to spend. Also, go to the pool and have hot dogs and
hamburgers for dinner. That is my idea of a perfect weekend.
--Carter
My idea of a perfect weekend is if I could control an airplane. I know it
sounds crazy. If I crash, I’d be sure to land in McDonald’s. Come on, that
would do no harm…except for screaming people and flying burgers. What? You
don’t trust me? Really, let it go. I’m not gonna go to jail until the
police see me. And that’s my idea of a perfect weekend! Something else I’d
like to do is I’d like to go skydiving. Trust me, skydiving looks
AWESOME!!! I could do that!
--Maya
THE BEST THING ABOUT BEING A BOY/GIRL IS…
The best thing about being a boy is you can—not that I’m being mean to girls—
sometimes be a little stronger. It actually helps you! For example, you may
be able to climb monkey bars better, or even climb a wall.
--Anonymous
The best thing about being a boy is you get to do more sports than girls.
Like football—no girl I know plays football. And NASCAR. I don’t think any
girl will race in cars and get in huge wrecks. Some boys are smarter. No
girl plays hockey. If they do they will get creamed. That’s why I like to
be a boy.
--Jack K.
The best thing about being a boy is that you do more sports than girls. For
example, football. Girls don’t like to be tackled. Football is a fun
sport. I like catching the ball and tackling people.
--Justin S.
The best thing about being a girl is that when you’re a girl you can go
shopping more than boys do.
--Dalya
The best thing about being a boy is we have a better chance of playing
football and being quarterback, and all sports that include roughhousing. I
love being quarterback for my team. We are the Black Bears. We are 2 and 3
(2 losses, 3 wins).
--Matthew
The best thing about being a girl is that you don’t grow a mustache. Or a
beard. Second, boys can’t wear dresses and look normal. Girls can.
--Maya
The best thing about being a boy is being brave. Also, it pays off. Like if
someone were to get all mad I could help him. I’m so lucky. I wonder what I
will look like when I’m grown up.
--Tony
The best thing about being a boy is that I get to go on good things and
places because girls are scared to go on fast, scary and big rides. But I
love to go on fast, scary and high rides. That’s why I like being a big
brave young boy. I also like being a boy because I get to do fun stuff.
Girls get to do fun stuff, but not as much as boys because we are brave.
Unlike girls.
--Lossou
The best thing about being a boy is that I do not cry that much and girls do.
--Julian
The best thing about being a girl is that I can wear beautiful dresses. I
can grow my hair really long. I can play girl dress-up games. Girls can
wear cute jewelry. Girls always help each other. I love being a girl!
--Sneha
The best things about being a boy are that boys are cooler, awesomer, and
taller. Like I’m a boy and one of the tallest kids in 3rd grade. Also, most
popular kids are boys and boys make cool games. Boys also get to chase and
annoy girls. And there are more boys in the world.
--Alec
The best thing about being a boy is no girls play football. Also, when
you’re a boy you have an advantage in speed. And you get to play a lot of
pranks. Also, boys can play baseball.
--Teddy
The best thing about being a girl is that you don’t swim with your shirt
off. When boys swim with their shirt off, it looks weird. If you ask me,
boys should wear a swim shirt like me—even though I’m not a boy. If boys
swim with their shirt off then when they do a belly flop it would hurt.
Every year on the 4th of July pool party, there is a DJ and everything. And
at the end there is always a belly flop contest. Every year for four years
my brother has always won and since his shirt was off, it hurt him.
--Emily
The best thing about being a girl is we have a big variety of clothing. We
can dress cute, cool, pretty, boyish, girlish, or more. Some girls like
sports, and they dress a little boyish. More boys would get made fun of by
dressing like girls than girls like boys, I think. Also, girls can make
their hair long, medium, or short. So can boys, but they probably won’t want
to and their mom might not let them. Girls have more choices.
--Ariel
OVER THE WEEKEND I…
My weekend was great! My baseball practice was cancelled though, but at
least I had fun! I went to catechism and it was like the longest class ever.
It was a little fun, though. And, don’t forget the electronics! I played my
computer, my Wii, and my DS. It was great!
--Nick G.
Over the weekend I had soccer, services, and a room clean-up. At soccer we
won 6-1. I was offense, defense, and mid-field. At services I saw Jonathan,
Emily, and Eli. Services were for Yom Kippur. In my room, I had books,
games, lights, rocks, cars, plastic animals, clothes, electronics, and some
wires. It took about an hour to clean most of it up.
--Ian
My weekend was awesome. Let’s start with the sad stuff. I lost my football
game but they had like a fifth grader. OK, now to the exciting stuff. The
Redskins won. We went to Taste of Bethesda and we weren’t going to eat there
but we had to go to Back to Rock. We saw Ms. Hart and her boyfriend. We had
a great weekend.
--Matthew
Over the weekend I went to Target and got a snake eyes costume! Three days
after that I put it on. Then I went outside. I was crying because I
couldn’t find my toy sword. Suddenly I saw a fawn 10 feet away from me! I
ducked down like a snake and crawled toward him. When I got about 6 feet
away, he went like a dog that wanted to play. I got one foot closer and then
he ran away. I stood up and saw another fawn! I ran inside and told my mom
and dad the whole thing!
--Nick S.
This weekend I didn’t really go anywhere. I stayed in my room for three
hours. I think I broke a record. Last time I stayed in my room for an
hour! I think it actually was a waste of time. But still, I did it. So
when I’m famous, people will know how I wasted my weekend.
--Maya
Over the weekend I had soccer, a baseball game, and religious school. At the
soccer game we won 20-0. A few people got hurt like Teddy, Jackson, and
Ryan. The opponents were mean. At the baseball game we lost. Our fielding
was horrible. It was like we were lying on the dirt sleeping. Religious
school was awesome. We had a giant “Simon Says” game.
--Ian
Over the weekend I went to McDonald’s and Target. I got cookies at
McDonald’s. I got great cards there, but I got even better cards at Toys R
Us. I also got a giant Lego set there. It is called The Battle of Endor. I
went hiking, too, but that was boring.
--Matty
Over the weekend I took my cat to my grandmom’s house. It was a struggle
getting her in the car, but little did we know my cousin’s dogs were there.
--Max
During the weekend I rode my bike with my dad at Beverly Farms. It was fun
because it was the first time riding my bike with my dad. He usually runs
and walks with me. I had two races with him. I won once and my dad won once.
--Sean
My weekend was boring. All I did was sit in my room—it was so boring. I
took out my bottom bed and jumped on it. I did jumping jacks. I did sit-ups
and push-ups. Then I went downstairs. I had lunch. That was just boring
toast.
--Sam P.
I had a great weekend. First, we went to see my brother’s friend. It was so
so boring! Then I went to a party. I went to my friend Mina’s house. I
also met Mina’s friend Natasha. Mina and I played the game Legend of Zelda.
Then Mina, Natasha, and I played raining toys. We filled a basket with toys
and then we dumped the basket on each other.
--Sneha
I AM RESPONSIBLE WHEN…
I am responsible when I watch my sister (kind of). I am also responsible
when I clean up the house (not really). Okay, I’m not fully responsible.
The thing that I’m mostly NOT responsible at is cleaning my room. The thing
that I’m mostly responsible at is buttoning buttons (pretty much).
--Maya
I am responsible when I feed my frogs because if I don’t feed them they die.
I am also responsible when I put down the trash. I do this because I don’t
like it when our house is stinky. I’m also responsible when I clean up my
room. I’m happy I do this because when it‘s not clean I step on stuff!
--Giovanna
I am responsible when I do my chores at home. They are for me to pick up
clothes and put them in my hamper; put my towel back where it belongs; and
put my toothbrush back. Also I’m responsible when I do my homework. I read
last, do spelling first, and math in the middle.
--Jackson
I am responsible when I get dressed. My mom tells me to get dressed before
she’s out of the shower. Before I actually get dressed, I turn on the
weather to see what I should wear. I also have to make sure my brother gets
dressed. He’s very picky when he gets dressed.
--Sam S.
I am responsible when I have to take care of my brother. He’s a little hard
to take care of (he’s a real pain, literally). His name is Philip. My
parents usually make me take care of him on weekends.
--Alec
I am responsible when I am left alone. You have to be very responsible to
stay home alone. You can stay home for two hours when you turn 8. It is
also fun staying home alone. I love it.
--Eli
I’m responsible when I play outside. When I’m outside and somebody gets
hurt, I tell an adult and they make them feel better. I play fair. I’m
honest and responsible.
--Jonathan
I am responsible when I give my cats food and water without being asked.
Sometimes I do this. Sometimes I don’t. It feels good when my dad
says, “Did you give the cats water?” and I surprise him by saying, “Yes.”
Then I am satisfied. But when I don’t and my dad asks if I did and I
say “No,” then I don’t want to do it anymore. It gives me less time to eat
breakfast. It feels better to take care of my cats without being asked.
--Ariel
I WISH I HAD MORE TIME FOR…
I wish I had more time for recess. It is so much fun in so little time. It
would be great if I could play whatever I wanted…even baseball at school!
The baseball field would be 100 feet wide! It would be very fun. I also
wish we could have a tree house that is 10 stories high, and that would be
definitely awesome. I just wish I had more time for recess.
--Nick G.
I wish I had more time for taking care of animals. Like once I saw a bird
with a broken wing. I put a band aid on it. Then it knew how to fly.
--Bodur
I wish I had more time for dreaming! Then I could make anything happen. My
world! My rules! I would be all POWERFUL! Mwahaha! I control everything!
NICKLAND! ME!!!!! YES!!! FINALLY!!!!!
--Nick S.
I wish I had more time for playing with my sisters. They have like a minimum
time to play with me. I feel like a lonely rock. I feel like I’m invisible
cause they have maximum homework.
--Max
SOME PEOPLE LIKE THE WAY I…
Some people like the way I make up games. For example, I played with a kid
named Jordan. We played card games. And I invented a game called “Spiderman
and Darth Vader Freeze Tag.” You can call it “SM and DV Freeze Tag” for
short.
--Nick G.
Some people like the way I talk. Sometimes I talk funny. Sometimes I just
do it by accident, but they still laugh. I don’t know why I do that.
--Jack K.
Some people like the way I do some stuff on the computer. Today I made a
song on Garage Band. If you don’t know what Garage Band is, it is kind of a
video game that you can make songs on. You can either record your voice or
add loops which are--let’s say there is one part of a song and it’s on guitar
and you would go to the guitar section and see if it was there and then you
would just drag it to where you wanted it. I call my song “First Loop Song.”
I am going to show my mom for her birthday and my dad of course. Then I am
going to burn it onto a disk and bring it to school for everyone to listen to.
--Matthew
Some people like the way I draw, when I think I stink. I really do. In
science I was drawing a bee. Max, Dalya, and Fatima were like “Wow, you’re
good,” when I just copied off the board.
--Julia
Some people like the way I play “Chase”. I don’t say “Hey, want to play
Chase?” I say nothing. I go up and say “Roar” and I chase them. Easy as
pie, huh? Of course it is! Silly me!
--Nick S.
Some people like my sense of humor. Sometimes I make them laugh so hard they
fall to the ground or floor. In preschool I made my friend Jordan laugh so
hard milk came out of her nose.
--Max
Some people like the way I play. My family does, too. I want to be a good
person. What am I doing? Hello, hello—hey, I can hear my echo…echo…echo…
echo!
--Tony
Some people like the way I dress. When I go to a Bar Mitzvah I dress neat
and tidy. I even brush my teeth twice before I go and put about three layers
of lotion on. Some people also like the kind of toothpaste I use to brush my
teeth. People also like the way I dress when I’m at any place, even if I’m
at a restaurant. The people at the restaurant think I dress good, neat and
tidy. People also like the way my room is clean when they come in my room.
People also like my house when they come in.
--Lossou
Some people like the way I play soccer. They say that I can score a goal with
my eyes shut. Also, people like how fast I can run. I’m one of the fastest
kids in 3rd grade. Also, people like the way I’m nice to others.
--Jackson
Some people like the way I take care of my dog. They think I am really
responsible. I think so, too. I pet him, talk to him, walk with him, but
most of all, I love him.
--Hannah
Some people like the way I am quiet because whenever I get my work done, I’m
quiet. I like being quiet. Quiet is fun. I like being quiet. Why do I
keep saying quiet?
--Sam P.
Some people like the way I make a push-up. They like it because I put my
legs up on our highest counter which is the hardest to do. They also like it
because I do not cheat. It is very impressive. I show my brother how to go
by the rules.
--Philip
Some people like the way I play basketball. I’m always aggressive. Once I
was the only player on my team for the whole year that had a double. Another
reason is I had the most rebounds and steals for the year. That’s why I’m
good at basketball.
--Ethan
Some people like the way I try to make an accent. I can make a vampire, a
guy from England, and many more. My friend likes the vampire. Another likes
the England. But my favorite is the vampire for Halloween.
--Alec
Some people like my handwriting. I like my handwriting, too. I love to
write. It’s so fun. I like writing even when my hand hurts!!!
--Eli
IF I WON A LOT OF MONEY, I WOULD…
If I won a lot of money, I would take a trip around the world. I want to do
this because I have never been out of the United States. I would also want to
do this because people do different things in different countries. I like
seeing what people are doing around the world.
--Ian
If I won a lot of money, I would spend it on games and other playing stuff.
I would also spend it on some books. The rest I would put in my bank
account. I would buy Wii games, a trampoline, and a Nintendo DS1. I also
would buy some wood to build a tree house. I’d buy a ladder to go with the
tree house. I like pools, so I would buy a pool. I would have a hammock in
between two trees. The hammock would be really relaxing. I would live in a
big house. There would be a lot of space in the house. I would have a lot
of acres in my yard. I would have a lot of plants to grow. I would grow
fruits and vegetables. It would be really fun.
--Justin S.
If I won a lot of money, I would give it to the homeless so they could buy a
home. Also, so they could get clothes and food, too.
--Dalya
If I won a lot of money, I would buy a five star hotel and I would call it
the “Justin Five Star Hotel.” I would buy all Nerf guns and all buzz bee
guns.
--Justin C.
If I won a lot of money I would put it in my savings account until I have
$20,000,000. Then I’d buy the biggest house in the USA!! (Probably the
White House! Or a TV show.)
--Julia
If I won a lot of money, I would spend it on a giant house and a private
turbo jet with skydiving supplies. I’d also spend it on “Keeping-Sisters-Out-
Of-Your-Room Spray,” if they have anything like that here! Too bad they
don’t. I wish they did. Really. OK, give over the spray, I know you have
it. JUST GIVE OVER THE SPRAY!!! What? You’ve never heard of it? What was
I talking about? Anyway, I’d also buy some wrestling gloves.
--Maya
If I won a lot of money, I would help the homeless. Then I would remodel my
house to be a mansion. If I had more money, I would buy a grand piano. If I
still had more money, I would buy Webkinz, jewelry, and food. The rest would
be for the mortgage. I’d also give money to the third grade class and
teachers.
--Jessie
If I won a lot of money, I would, well, it depends on how much. If I won the
lottery, my parents always told me we could go to Hawaii, so I guess I’d go
to Hawaii. If I had extra money, I’d probably save it. Maybe see how much
an iTouch is. Oh, maybe my parents would get me an awesome phone! We could
finally redo my room! We could go out to expensive restaurants. Not that we
don’t already. But it would still be so cool! If only this would come true.
--Ariel
MY BEST FRIEND IS SPECIAL BECAUSE…
My best friends are special because they play with me, help me when I need
it, and come to my birthday parties. They also make me happy when I’m
feeling sad. They also help me when I can’t figure out a question on my
homework. They also have toys that I don’t have so when we have play dates,
we get to play with different toys. Having lots of friends is fun.
--Ian
My best friend is special because he never gets too mad. He is really funny
sometimes. Whenever I want something, he gives me it. He is not bossy
either. My best friend is almost always smiling.
--Justin S.
My best friend is special because she is nice to everybody. She is like a
miracle worker because she fixes your problem. She will do anything for
you. She will like you even if you are nice, mean, and even if you are new
to the school. Even if she does not know you very well.
--Skylar
My best friend is special because in first grade we were working and I really
had to go to the bathroom, but I wasn’t allowed. Finally, I couldn’t hold it
anymore and I peed in my pants and I had to go to the nurse. Then I had to
wear really ugly pants and the most hideous shirt in the history of the
world. When I came back to my classroom, everybody was laughing at me so I
tried to hide. But people still laughed at me, so she started to cover me up
to protect me. My friend was the only one who didn‘t laugh at me.
--Emily
My best friend is special because she is always nice and kind. She is smart,
pretty, and fun to be with. She always wants to play with me and I feel the
same way as her. We are always together and people say we are attached at
the hip. She loves to laugh, the same as me. We always agree. Well,
usually. She loves to read. Again, she is very kind. She is really special.
--Ariel
I REALLY LIKE…
I really like swimming, baseball, and soccer. I’m on the swim team called
the Tally Ho Foxes. I got a regular trophy the first year, a 4th place
trophy the second year, and a 1st place trophy the third year. I get a
slightly larger trophy every year for baseball. I am good at fielding and
batting. For soccer, our trophies vary in sizes.
--Ian
I really like to go on vacation with my family. I like going in my big car.
We named it Big Beauty. Once I traveled to Ohio for a week with one of my
brothers and my dad.
--Uriel
I really like Elvis. Every time I go in my daddy’s car I listen to the Elvis
radio. Elvis’ birthday is on January 8 so on that day I will eat a lot of
junk food, wear a birthday hat, and listen to Elvis. My brother says I’m the
biggest Elvis fan ever, but my mom says that there are bigger ones. Last year
I was Elvis for Halloween and I played an Elvis song on my mommy’s phone and
I had the wig and everything.
--Emily
IF I COULD GO ANYWHERE ON VACATION, I WOULD GO TO…
If I could go anywhere, I’d go to Florida. It has Disney World, a giant
McDonald’s and I can see a parrot in a hotel. It’s really cool.
--Jack K.
If I could go any place on vacation I’d go to California. I would go there
because one of my friends who used to go to Seven Locks moved to California.
And now she is very lucky because she gets to go to school and at school she
gets no homework and she just plays all day at school. She doesn’t even do
class work!
--Stephanie
If I could go anywhere, I’d go to California. I would like to go there
because I have heard rumors that it is a beautiful place.
--Michael
I LIKE THE FEEL OF…
I like the feel of winning. I feel powerful when I win. Winning feels
good. You should try it some time.
--Jack K.
I like the feel of the wind and belts. I like the feel of wind because it
makes me feel like I’m running faster than I really am. I also like it
because I can relax and cool off in the wind. I like belts because they can
sometimes be stretchy and smooth and other times they can be bumpy and
tight. They also are fun to touch when you walk down the aisle at the
store.
--Ian
I like the feel of my swim team swim suit when it comes out of the dryer. It
feels so warm. It feels so soft and cozy. When I put it on it is warm so I
do not get cold in the pool. I love my swim suit.
--Ben
I like the feel of my dog named Maggie. She is especially soft behind the
ears. She licks people a lot, too. She is very playful. I love Maggie and
she loves me!
--Nick S.
I like the feel of a marshmallow. It feels squishy. I like the taste of it,
too. It also feels smooth because there are no lumps.
--Matty
I like the feel of my cat. She is so soft. I love her. She is the best cat
ever. I don’t know what I would do without her.
--Max
I like the feel of a gumball. I do not know why (maybe because I like
gumballs). But still they feel smooth, and hard. Sometimes I don’t take
time to notice this feeling, so I just pop it into my mouth. One time I got
gum on my shoe. So I walked home with gum on my shoe. I guess I liked the
feel of that, too. But not for long. So to make a long story short, I ended
up in the grass, scraping gum off my shoes with a stick. I guess I didn’t
like the feel of that.
--Maya
I like the feel of a baby’s skin. It is so soft, like a stuffed animal.
It’s like I have a baby brother. No wait, I DO have a baby brother.
--Tony
I like the feel of when my mom and dad are going to give me something.
--Stephanie
I like the feel of fur because it feels cozy to me. And I like wind, too.
Also, I like the feeling of lavender. And I like feeling my bed.
--Jack A.
I like the feel of my pet guinea pig’s fur. It is so fuzzy and it’s like
heaven when I cuddle with Stretch. Who doesn’t love pets? When Stretch
chirps, that means he loves it when I snuggle with him.
--Anna
I like the feel of dogs—the way their fur is so soft and cute. I also like
the feel of people’s hair. I also like the feel of my costume, the way it
feels so soft and good. I also like the feel of my skin. The last thing I
like to feel is the box of colored pencils.
--Lossou
I like the feel of when your feet are on the hot sand at the beach. And when
I am in the snow and I slide down and I feel the breeze in my face. I like
the feel when I am on a rollercoaster and your stomach drops. And when I
fall asleep.
--Skylar
I like the feel of quiet and being alone. This feeling is a good feeling
because I can basically do anything without anyone noticing. For some reason
I like being alone more than any other feeling except winning a video game or
something like that.
--Sean
I really like to feel the cool breeze of the wind when it’s hot. I like it
because it keeps you cool. It goes through your hair. It puts your sweat on
the middle of your head and that is the hottest part on your head. You can
run while it is there.
--Philip
I like the feel of a massage chair. A massage chair feels so good and
relaxes me. When I go on a massage chair, I feel like I’m in heaven. The
massage chair makes me feel fresh when I’m done. If I’m in a bad mood the
feeling of a massage chair makes me feel better. I just love the massage
chair.
--Sneha
I like the feel of my stuffed Pooh Bear. I’ve slept with it for four years.
It’s so soft that it feels like my dad’s belly. It was supposed to be for my
brother. I found another Pooh Bear for him instead.
--Sam S.
I like the feel of hot water. I like hot water because it wakes up my body.
Sometimes I do it because I have a stuffed nose. Sometimes my mom just tells
me to take a shower. It makes my body feel good.
--Jonathan
I like the feel of a hug from my mom. It is nice and warm and cozy. Never
too hard. Never too soft. Always makes you feel better. It’s a nice way to
end the day. I feel snug as a bug. What a great hug! Always so kind at the
right time. Feels so good. Sometimes her hugging me makes her feel better,
too. My mom makes good hugs!
--Ariel

vanilla.
--Jack K.
I like the smell of baked cookies. I especially like it when my mom makes
them. When I get home from school and they’re ready, I usually go on the
couch and put my ear plugs on. They aren’t connected to anything. I dance
all around the house with the cord hanging down.
--Matthew
I like the smell of spices and flowers. They make my nose full of sweet
smells, but some spices make my nose twitch.
--Max
I like the smell of my mother’s cooking. It smells soooo good. It’s like a
spell smell—it makes you follow the smell. It makes me feel like home. It’s
so comforting. But sometimes she forgets to turn off the stove and burns it.
--Jessie
I like the smell of air fresheners. It’s like fruit all day long. My

They smell good.

the smell of it can wake me up at 12:00 pm. Also, the smell of fresh buttered
popcorn can make me quit whatever I’m doing. Even when I hear it popping it
makes me hungry.

IF I HAVE MY OWN CHILDREN SOMEDAY, I’LL BE SURE TO…
If I have my own children someday, I’ll be sure to feed them, take them
places, teach them important life lessons, and get them a few toys. I think
I will fed them sushi, apples, and yogurt.
--Ian
If I have my own children someday, I’ll be sure to take them to the doctor
when they’re sick. Or give them healthy foods, for example, mangos, milk,
baby food, soup, strawberries, and blueberries. I will also be sure to
change their diapers. Also, give them baths. I’ll even buy something to
keep them entertained.
--Dalya
If I were a man and I had children I would take care of them by feeding them
breakfast. I would sit with them and pat them on the head. I would give
them love.
--Matty
If I have my own children someday I’ll be sure to give them lots of exercise
and give stuff to them that is healthy. They will be on a soccer team.
Also, I’ll give them a good education. They will go to Bells Mill Elementary
School.
--Uriel
If I have my own children someday I’ll be sure they don‘t go on the computer
too long. And video games too long. I’d make sure they go outside every
once in awhile. I’d let them go to friend’s houses for play dates. I’d read
to them.
--Jack A.
If I have a child someday I would be sure to feed it three times a day. I

too many treats, though.
--Sam S.
If I have my own children someday, I’ll be sure to teach them Russian.
First, I’ll teach them “Hi” in Russian. Then I’ll teach then “Mom” and “Dad”
in Russian so they could at least greet their parents in Russian. Next I’d
teach them “Goodbye” and “Thank you” in Russian. Later I’d teach
them “Please” in Russian.
--Alec

IF I COULD BE A FAMOUS PERSON, I’D BE…
If I could be a famous person, it would be a football player, basketball
player, or a soccer player. I am really good at soccer and basketball. I
really like catching balls in football. Football seems interesting. I
really like being sweaty.
--Justin S.
If I could be a famous person, I would be a rock star! I would be the lead
guitarist and singer. If the drummer couldn’t make it, I would hire someone
to play guitar and sing and I would play drums. Our band would be
named “Medley.” We would make like 100 bucks a week.
--Matthew
If I could be a famous person, I would be a singer. At my home my mom says I
sing like an angel. I sing and sing until I get it right then I remember the
lyrics then I sing and sing until it gets old to me.
--Anna
If I were a famous person I would make school a whole lot funner. I would
make every day a half day.
--Michael
If I could be a famous person, I would be Elvis. Elvis is *one* of my
favorite people in the entire world. My favorite song is…well, maybe I don’t
have a favorite song. Last year for Halloween, I was Elvis. I have a lot of
Elvis CDs and I have an Elvis t-shirt and I have peppermint flavored Elvis
mints. I also have three books all about Elvis. (I said *one* because my two
favorite people are my mommy and daddy.)
--Emily
I WISH PEOPLE WOULD STOP…
I wish people would stop teasing/bullying. Teasing hurts people’s feelings.
Same thing with bullying. You should treat people how you want to be
treated. You probably should be sorry.
--Justin S.
I wish people would stop using cars and polluting the air. We will die if we
keep this up. Why can’t we ride our bikes to school or something that
doesn’t pollute the air. Do you want us to die? Of course not.
--Matthew
I wish people would stop littering because it is bad for us and the animals.
I also want people to stop smoking because it is bad for your lungs. You can
also get lung cancer. I hate thinking about it. It is so bad.
--Ben
I wish people would stop littering because it’s bad for the earth. Also, I
wish people would stop smoking. Every time I walk past someone smoking, my
eyes itch and I start coughing. One more thing I don’t like is my brother.
(Just kidding!!!!)
--Giovanna
I wish people would stop like when I have $5 and I say I have five dollars
and they say oh yeah I have $6. I hate it.
--Julian
I wish people would stop smoking. I want it to stop because when they’re
done they litter. Also, it’s not healthy. And it’s not safe.
--Teddy
