Good afternoon!
It's hard to believe we have just ended the first week of March!
We are wrapping up our unit on division and will have our test on Wednesday, March 13th! Study guides will be sent home Monday. Please encourage your children to continue practicing their multiplication facts.
We have started our "living things" unit in science. We have discussed familiar and unfamiliar plants and animals. We are discovering ways to classify them according to observable physical attributes and environmental features. We also learned about soil and which type helps certain plants grow.
In faith studies, the students have been practicing their parable scripts and are preparing to present their skits to kindergarten and first grade, next week. The puppets look great!!!
On Tuesday, we viewed a live broadcast presented by the author of the 39 clues series. He led us on a virtual field trip of the American History Smithsonian Museum in DC. We learned the history behind several artifacts he writes about in his books. Today we became curators by visiting the Smithsonian history explorer website and researching different artifacts.
Next week we will celebrate Lutheran Schools week.
Dress down days are as follows:
Monday - Favorite Color Day
Tuesday - Book Character Day
Wednesday - Mismatch/Wacky Day
Thursday - Favorite Print/Pattern Day
Friday - Green for St. Patrick's Day
We will also send home the solar system projects on Friday. Please plan on assisting your child during dismissal.
Enjoy your weekend,
~ Mrs. Shelton and Mrs. Rost
