What are Classroom Guidance Lessons?

Classroom Guidance is designed to address the personal, academic,
healthy,
interpersonal, and career development of students. Students in
grades K-5
are currently receiving one to four visits per month from the
counselor.
Lessons focus on the Stop & Think, Preventative Counseling, and
Character
Education.

and in
each classroom.

What is Group Counseling?

Group counseling is provided when a teacher/parent referral is
used or on a
needed basis. Various groups will run through out the school
year. Each
group will last between 3 - 6 weeks depending on the needs of the
group.

Is my child in trouble when they go see the counselor?

No; students see me for a variety of reasons. My job is to
problem solve with students and brainstorm positive choices for
actions and behaviors. Students come to see me for support,
advice, or as someone to talk to and share thoughts/ideas with .
