Policies and Procedures

Class Rules:

1. Be respectful.
2. Be prompt, prepared, and positive.
3. Follow procedures.

Class Procedures:

Tardiness
Come on time and go to your designated seat at once. If for any
reason you are not in your designated seat when the bell rings, you will be
marked tardy. You have to sign the Tardy Logbook every time you come to
class late.

Drill
When you walk into class, there will be a short drill on the
projection screen, worksheet, or on the board. Begin working silently in
your seat. The start-up activity will be collected after 5 minutes. Drills
are graded and totaled and will get a Quiz Grade over a period of one to two
weeks.

Student Movement
No student should be wandering around class at any time. Do not get
up to sharpen your pencil, throw things away, hand a paper to someone, etc.
If you have trash, hold it until the end of class.

Eating
Gum chewing, drinking sodas, or eating food of any kind is not
allowed in the classroom.

Cell phone, Portable CD Player(Disc Man), MP3(IPOD) and other inappropriate
materials
These are not permitted and will be confiscated when brought to class.

Class Behavior
You are expected to follow the rules and behavior expectations at
FSK. In class you are expected to copy notes, do individual/group work and
turn-in classwork and homework on time. Making noise and doing unrelated
tasks hinder the class from learning and finishing the work on time. Your
behavior in class has a big impact on your class participation and class
work grades. Any unnecessary noise and misbehavior may result to a grade of
zero for class work and class participation for the day.

Absences
If you are absent, it is your responsibility to make up the work.
1	Present a letter of excuse first thing when you come back
2	Be sure to get the Assignments & Activities that you need to make
up.
3	If you are absent for x days, you have x days from the day of return
to turn in make-up work/take a make-up quiz.

Class Participation
Class participation includes attendance, classroom behavior, and
doing the assigned task. Everyone is expected to participate in class
activities. This includes answering/attempting to answer questions, board
work, copying notes, doing individual/group work, or anything else that Ms.
Gesmundo dreams up for you to participate in.

Academic Dishonesty
Students are expected to demonstrate honesty and integrity. Each
student is expected to do his or her work. Copying/Sharing answers with
another student during tests, quizzes, homework, or classwork, is considered
cheating and will be dealt with accordingly.

Class Grade Determination:

Homework/Classwork 30%
Class Participation 20%
