1. Here is my desk and you can see the train track table next to it. When you lift up the top, there is an empty compartment in which I keep a CD listening center. The tracks are under the table. The other side of my desk has magnets holding puppets.
2. Under my desk is a relaxation station, also know as a safe place. It doubles as a favorite reading spot with a tap light attached to the underside.
3, I have 2 tape recorders set up at this table for 2 listening centers. Above it, you can see my daily schedule with our calendar to the right.
4. This view shows the front of the room. We do our calendar math from our seats and the children look up to this area.
5. Reading group space
6. I use the crayon chart for center selection, which I have incorporated with the Daily 5. My science corner is literally in the corner on the lower shelf. Leveled books for read-to-self selections are kept in the drawer containers above it. The children select a bag to put their books in from the box to the right.
7. This table is often used for math activities. The shelves have toys/activities coded with shapes denoting both where it belongs and whether it is for math, language arts, or choice time
8. Another favorite reading spot is under this table with a tap light attached to the underside.
9. When I have an IA or a volunteer, they usually work with a small group at this hexagonal table.
10. You can see the word wall on the cabinet doors.
11. The Writing and Art Center
12. This space is used for play-doh and other art projects.
13. This whiteboard is magnetic and has a felt board on the back
14 Felt board and on the side, under the easel, is my sound muncher.
15. Here are the coat racks and backpack wells. The box beside my door houses the children's towels that they use for quiet time to rest their head on.
16. These shelves house toys that are usually used on a large area of the floor. Underneath it, I have another cassette tape listening center that slides out to be used during literacy centers.
17. Pretend Center
18. This side of the shelves has the children's cubbies. The bottom shelf has a basket with a CD player listening center.
19. Library Corner, Computer Center, and Lego Table Beside the Lego table is a basket with a CD player listening center that children take out and use on the table during literacy centers.
20 Another view of the library, computer, and Lego area where you can also see my Chicka Chicka Tree that lights up.
21. The Gathering Place I use a bench instead of a rocking chair. I LOVE it! It is also a storage space, which is where I keep the blocks. My easel holds our chart for our morning message as well as big books.
22. Back around to the other side of the room you see my pocket chart and chart stand and the puppet theater beside it.
23. A broader view of the room and my table arrangement for the students assigned seating.
