I have been teaching since Dec. 1987, hired
straight out of college after graduating Summa Cum Laude. I began
teaching 3rd through fifth grade and then moved to first grade. Two
years later, a Kindergarten position became available and I pounced
on the opportunity. In 2002 I moved to Howard County and was thrilled to be
offered a teaching position here at Guilford. As both a parent and a
teacher, I love the Howard County Public School System!
When I am not teaching or preparing lessons, I enjoy spending time with my
family. I have 2 children, both attending schools here in Howard County. My
husband also works in Columbia. My family and I enjoy skiing, dancing,
playing cards together, and volunteering our time at a camp serving childhood
cancer patients and their families. Personally, I also enjoy reading and
surfing the internet to visit my favorite teacher websites.
It is my goal to provide a Kindergarten experience for each
child that fosters both a love for learning and a positive attitude
towards school. Within those parameters, each child will be
challenged to reach his/her greatest potential while learning at a
developmentally appropriate level.
