1.       Visit my website (http://teacherweb.com/MD/HammondHighSchool/Ferraro/ap2.stm) and on the navigation bar CLICK on A Journey Inside the Cell to complete the webquest.  CLICK on CELLBASICS and read the information to answer questions 1 – 3 regarding the Cell Theory.

 

  1. Continue reading from CELL Basics about information on prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells.  Complete the attached Venn Diagram, comparing and contrasting a prokaryotic and a eukaryotic cell.

 

  1. To answer question 4, Click on Next to go to - Cell Structure: An Overview (http://www.beyondbooks.com/lif71/4a.asp).

 

  1. Now use the toggle switch at the top and scroll down to Specialized Structures and Cells (http://www.beyondbooks.com/lif71/4h.asp) to answer the question 5.

 

  1. Go to the following internet address for the Virtual Cell Tour: http://www.ibiblio.org/virtualcell/index.htm and complete the Virtual Cell Worksheet.

 

  1. Go to Cell Structure Animation to help you identify the differences between a prokaryotic and a eukaryotic cell and the differences between a plant and a animal cell. Complete the attached chart Comparing and Contrasting a prokaryotic cell to a eukaryotic cell and an animal cell to a plant cell.

 

  1. CLICK on CELL ANALOGY (http://www.beyondbooks.com/lif71/4a.asp) and read the website information and complete the chart Comparing a Cell to a Factory.

 

  1. Using your textbook (pages 62), complete the Structures of Living Cells Diagram, by coloring and correctly labeling all parts of the eukaryotic cells (plant and animal cells)
  1. Answer the questions 7, 9, 12 and complete the writing prompt (question 13).

 

  1. Complete the graphic organizer Inside the Cell summarizing the cell structure and function.

 

  1. Extra Credit: Develop a song for you and your partner’s organelles and present it to the class.
