Tests and Quizzes
: 20% This is any test or quiz, take home or in class, including county assessments.
Homework Policy
All homework is due the next class period unless otherwise stated.
Homework may be turned in one day late to receive half credit.
No late homework will be accepted after one day.
Homework missed due to absences is accepted up to the number of days missed after the student’s return to school.
Assignments missed due to other obligations with the school, e.g. band, peer mediation, GT seminars, etc. will be accepted for full credit the next day.
It is the
STUDENTS’ RESPONSIBILITY
to ensure that all late or missing work is completed in a timely manner.
Some exceptions can be made. See me for further details if needed.
Writing Journal
The writing journal contributes to a significant portion of the writing grade.
Your journal can be completed in a spiral notebook, composition book, other journal, or online using googledocs.
The writing journal is intended to develop your writing skills through practice and provide a creative outlet.
Some entries will have writing exercises and some will be free writing. (Additional prompts are available if you have difficulty getting started.)
You must write for at least 20 minutes for each of the 3 or 5 entries.
You must complete a writing log that your parent initials between turn in dates.
The turn in dates will be posted on the website throughout the year and announced in class.
You may turn in the writing journal early.
If you complete the assignment and return the writing log with your parent's initials you will receive full credit of 30 points.
