What will I be doing this year?

-Writing college essays
-Reading Shakespeare and books by other notable authors

All projects and papers will be graded according to a scoring guide that will
be provided when the assignment is made.

-Be courteous

What guidelines are in place to help me follow the rules of the classroom?

-Be in your assigned seat and be working on the assigned bell work when the
tardy bell rings.
-Bring ALL books and materials with you to class AND take them with you when
you leave.
-Please listen carefully so you can follow directions the FIRST time they are
given.
-Treat each person in the classroom with respect and dignity.
-Follow ALL policies and procedures as outlined in the Howard High School
Student Handbook.

What is the "Special Guideline"?

-This classroom is a �No Whining Zone�.  That means that there will be no
whining, for ANY reason.
-Everything that I do is in your best interest, so please�respect the �No
Whining Zone� this semester.

What is the appropriate way to enter the classroom?

-Please enter quietly 
-Have a seat
-Take out your materials
-Review the agenda
-Begin bell work assignment

What do I do if I'm late to class?

-Enter quietly 
-Excused: Place excuse in the basket on my desk
-Unexcused: Sign detention list on top of file cabinet
-Have a seat and take out

Mrs. Burrows will:
-Stand in front of the class
-Raise my hand
-Wait for everyone to be quiet
-Begin speaking
