About The Teacher

     I have been at MacArthur Middle School for fourteen years.  
Before moving to Maryland, I taught in California for ten years.  I am 
married to a wonderful man named Bill.  My son, Matt, is a musician in the 
National Guard, and has his own computer consultant business.  My step-son, 
Geoff, works for a banking company.  

     My favorite activity is traveling.  I have visited Stonehenge, seen the 
Eiffel Tower, watched whales spout,kissed the Blarney Stone and have stood on 
top of  ancient castle towers. This summer my husband and I took a trip 
to Wales.  You can see from the above photo that it is a beautiful 
country!
     I love going to movies.  If you are at the Arundel Mills Mall on a 
Saturday afternoon, you might see me there. Believe it or not, my husband and 
I go to the movies once a week! When I am not at school or watching movies, I 
love gardening, crossword puzzles, genealogy, traveling and reading.

     

Mission For The Class

     This will be a busy year!!  Believe it or not, you will read at least 
ten books this year!  You will be able to explain and identify plot,theme, 
character, and setting. You will also compose several writings 
that contain a good hook, vivid verbs, and colorful modifiers.  Not only 
will your reading comprehension and writing skills improve, but you will also 
see improvement in grammar, spelling, and vocabulary.
