Home Practice Packets will go out on Monday, October 26 . They will be due
back on Friday , November 13 (see announcement page to read about why such a
long time)
ORAL SKILLS - Continue to practice all material covered so far. Practice
recognizing u and U(short sound of u) #11 and #12 Bible Verses 7. The
children are in need of much practice of the Bible verses.
WRITING SKILLS - Practice the material covered so far. Practice writing u,
U, #11 and #12. Please follow the directions in the Home Practice
Packet for proper form of letters and numerals.
Please be sure you are helping your children with proper pencil control
skills and writing with proper form. It is normal for them to need your help
at this time in the school year.
The children have been learning that numbers and words must be separated by
space in order for our brains to decode the characters. We teach the
children that two finger spaces are necessary to seperate. They need to use
two fingers on the hand that does not hold the pencil. These fingers need to
be placed after the last written letter or number. The fingers say, "No, you
can't write here. You must go next door to write." We will be practicing
this concept in class. Eventually, the starter dots in writing will
disappear, so finger spacing will become critical. Please assist your child
where necessary.
