Kindergarten Newslette

We had a great week getting to know each other.  I enjoyed having the children share their “me” bags in class.  Please be sure to send in your “me” bag if you have not already done so.  This helps the children get to know each other a little better.

Bible:  A         All have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God. Rom. 3 :23

  Along with the daily Bible story, the children will be learning a new Bible verse each week . I will send the Bible verse card in the take home folder.  The students are to study these verses at home.   . We will be testing this Thursday on the Bible verse A

Homework:

Phonic

  Please be sure to review the letter sentence for “i” and “u”.

            i says i as in indian, i says iii.

            u says u as in umbrella. u says uuu.

 Look for the mini alphabet cards in the pencil bag of the binder.  I will review these sentences during the week.  The students will earn play money if they are able to tell me  the sentences that go with the letters.   The play money will be used to buy treasures  from the treasure box on Friday

We will be testing on Thursday

Writing:

 This week’s writing homework is i and u.   I am assigning two papers.  Only one side of the paper is expected to be done, unless you feel that your child needs more practice.

      As your child writes the letters, review the sound that the letter make.   Use the mini alphabet cards, and have them speak the sentence that goes with the letter.

             Try this exercise to help your child.  Write down some letters with a highlight marker or pencil.  Then have your child trace over the letters with a pencil.  This is great practice.

  Writing homework is due, on Thursdays   I will look for homework assignments in the front pockets of the binder

            Chapel                                    Monday 

            Music                                    Tuesday and Thursday

            Computer                             Tuesday and Wednesday

            Spanish                                 Friday

             Gym                                    Monday and Wednesday

Note:       

 Please be sure to send your child in tennis shoes on gym days. The students are allowed to wear shorts until thanksgiving and then they are supposed to wear sweat pants after thanksgiving. The student need to be dressed appropriately for gym or they may not be allowed to participate.

 Communication:

If you call the office and need to speak with me during class time you may leave a message . I will try to get back to you as soon as possible. Our classroom is very busy so I may not be able to return your call until the end of the day. If it is an emergency please let the office know.
