Self-selected Reading Assignment

Dear Parents:

This year in Reading class, your child will be required to read 2 self-selected books each quarter. One of these books must be on the “Reading Counts” test list. This list is available online at www.ppmsgators.org. I also have a print copy in my classroom. The students will read the books and then take a test that is available on the computers at school. Those grades will count as test grades each quarter.

The second book does not have to be on the list; however, it should be a reading level of 4.0 or above. You will use the attached signature slips to verify that your child has read it. You may check the reading level on my website

(www.teacherweb.com/md/ppms/miller) . If you are unsure of the reading level of a book your child would like to read, send the book in with your child and I will find the level or approve the book myself.
