Homework will be placed in the composition notebook with a table of contents
on the my own science activities. A letter was given to the students the
second week of school for parents and students for an explanation of the
assignments for each quarter. Students are allowed to choose and complete
the assignments for each quarter and turn in with dates I assign in their
agendas. Students are to receive permission from parents to
complete experiments at home and they have to be initialed for that date by
parents. Students may leave their composition at home until the due date. I
usually go over the MOS for the first two weeks to identify what to do for
homework. All directions are in the table of contents, I assign the dates
when I hand back the MOS books. I have been assigning them one at a time this
quarter so the student understands how to complete each MOS task. I provide
examples and classtime to go over each procedure. Next quarter, I will
assign specific dates in the MOS composition notebook because students
already know what is expected for each assignment.
Try to focus on a topic of science that you find
interesting and go for it. I am so excited about reading all of the new MOS
assignments this year.

MOS DUE THIS WEEK IS ON DEVELOPING 5 GOOD TESTABLE QUESTIONS THAT HAVE THE
INDEPENDENT AND DEPENDENT VARIABLES PRESENT. NOVEMBER 5-6

AFTER I APPROVE ONE OF THEIR QUESTIONS- THE NEXT STEP IS TO DEVELOP A
HYPOTHESIS.
THEN MATERIALS AND PROCEDURE IS COMPLETED BEFORE THANKSGIVING.
PROJECT WITH DATA IS DONE AND COMPLETED BEFORE DECEMBER 9th.
THIS FOLLOWS THE TABLE OF CONTENTS ON THE MOS COMPOSITION - PERFORM AN
EXPERIMENT
WE SET UP MOS THE SECOND WEEK OF SCHOOL WITH THE TABLE OF CONTENTS GLUED
IN TOGETHER. I GO OVER HOW TO RECORD ASSIGNMENTS. THE DATES WILL BE
POSTED IN THE MOS BOOKS DURING QUARTER 2 after students know how to complete
all the activities.
STUDENTS WILL BE REWARDED AGAIN THIS WEEK FOR GATOR BITES.
