This is my tenth year teaching at St. Bernadette and my twenty fourth in
education. I am happy to be sharing this experience with my children who
are
presently in the eighth grade. My husband and I both grew up in the Four
Corners area and attended Montgomery Co. Schools. I graduated from Salisbury
University with an Elementary Education degree. I completed my Advanced
Certification a few years later. During my years in public school I had the
opportunity to have many wonderful experiences. I taught in a Multi-Age
classroom, ran a Resource Program and was the Facilitator for my schools
reading program which was developed at Johns Hopkins. However, I am
happy and most excited to have this opportunity to teach the T.Y.K.E.S class this year. It is
wonderful to be apart of such a special community as a parishiner, parent and teacher.
It is my true belief that God has given each of us a special gift.....We
just
open them at different times.
This belief is what guides the instuction in our classroom. Each child
should
progress at their own developmental level. We also focus on the love of God
and to love others as God loves them.
It is my hope that at the end of the school year each child will have worked
to their potential and have developed a love of school as well as a joy for
learning.
