CLASS POLICIES
• Raise your hand if you want to talk. If I speak, you listen; and if
you speak, I listen.
• Respect others properties.
• Go to the restroom before Spanish class begins. Nobody will go to
the restroom except if it is an emergency. Before you leave to go to the
restroom, you will sign in the book at the door or take the bathroom pass.
• Kids helping with hot lunches and band (will have to leave early)
are responsible for learning whatever they missed. There is no excuse! (Hot
lunches apply just to 5th graders.)
• Conduct: Teacher expects students to be well behaved during class.
For 1st and 2nd graders: time out if misbehavior occurs.
For 3rd, 4th and 5th graders: 2 verbal warnings. If behavior reoccurs the
student will receive a demerit form.
• Grading:
1st and 2nd grade: report cards based on application, conduct, content and
effort. First grade will not have quizes. Second grade will have quizzes,
the ones that will include word banks for the first few months. As the year
progresses, students will have to write down some meanings in Spanish
(perfect spelling is not required but the child should have at least a
notion of the word in spanish).
3rd, 4th and 5th grade: grades will be given based on the application of the
material that is being taught (Spanish) and the homework that will be sent
home as well as class work. *Correct spelling for most of the spanish words
is expected, especially during tests.
