Mrs Martinez holds a B.S. in Physical Education and Health Education from
Eastern Michigan University and a Masters Degree in Leadership in Teaching
from the College of Notre Dame in Baltimore, MD. Mrs. Martinez has been a
Physical Education Teacher at St. Margaret since 1996. Prior to 1996 she
spent 17 years working for the YMCA of the USA as a Senior Director in the
midwest and southearn parts of the USA. Mrs. Martinez enjoys exercise,
sports,outdoor recreation and reading good books in her spare time. She
lives
with her family in Bel Air.
Primary School Physical Education is intended to be an enjoyable experience
for students in which they learn and practice physical, cooperative and team
skills. The experience allows them to explore their personal physical limits
and learn to take acceptable physical risks. Physical Education is a
learning
laboratory for skills and knowledge related to life-long fitness and
wellness
issues. The joy of movement is modeled by the teacher at all times in a
variety of fitness activities, to include movement and sports skills
development exercises.
