Who is eligible to be a St.Martin's School Safety Patrol

All middle school students (Grades 6, 7 & 8) may become a Safety 
Patrol.

What must be done to become a Safety Patrol?

An application must be read and signed by a parent/guardian.  The 
student 
must also read and sign the application.  After reciting the 
Patrol Pledge 
from memory, a numbered bright yellow belt will be issued to the 
patrol.  
This belt will belong to the patrol for the entire school year.

What happens if the patrol belt is lost?

The student will be responsible for informing the Captain and 
Patrol 
Supervisors that the belt is lost and must pay $5.00 for another 
belt.

How often do patrols serve?

All patrols serve at least once a quarter.

What are the assignments of patrols?

The Captain(s) is/are chosen from the 8th grade patrols.  
Lieutenants are 
chosen from the 7th grade patrols.   Sergeants are chosen from 
the 6th grade 
patrols.

What other assignments are there?

Class patrols for Kindergarten through Grade 4 and Car Door 
Openers are the 
other assignments.  Kindergarten has 4 patrols and 1st Grade has 
3 patrols. 
Grades 2 and 3 have 2 class patrols each, Grade 4 has one patrol.

Other than the Patrol Pledge, what other requirements are there?

Patrols must maintain a C or better average in all subjects.  
Patrols must 
also demonstrate dependability and leadership by being prompt at 
dismissal 
and by turning in assigned homework on time.  Patrols must remain 
detention 
free.  Any infraction of the above may end in a 30 day suspension 
from 
duty.  Please refer to the patrol application and Parent/Student 
Handbook.

How long after school does a patrol have to stay?

Patrols serve from 2:45 until 3:00pm on regular school days and 
until 12:30 
on half days.

Who is the Patrol Supervisor?

Mrs. Blythe and Mrs.Fowler are the Patrol Supervisors.

Are there Patrol Meetings?

Patrols meetings will be held at 10:30 am with Montgomery County 
Police 
Officer Johnson every first Wednesday of the month beginning in 
October.  
Officer Johnson discusses important safety issues.

Are there other meetings?

Mrs. Blythe will hold brief Patrol Meetings for patrols either 
during recess or the last period on Friday afternoons.
