What is the policy/system for weekly spelling tests

Every Monday morning the students are given a Spelling Pre-Test. This test
has one purpose, to find those students requiring more challenging words.
Those students able to spell at least 9 words correctly on the pre-test will
be given a more challenging set of words to learn for Friday's test.
On Friday, all children take a Spelling Test on the words they were assigned
based on Monday's Pre-Test.
Friday's test receives 2 grades; 1 grade for spelling and 1 grade for
handwriting.
