social- one meaning of this word is someone who likes to talk a lot and
enjoys being with people
spacious- something that has a lot of room or space, like a spacious or large
apartment
efficient- if something works well without using up too much energy
potential- what someone is capable of doing
optician- someone who makes and sells eye glasses
magician- someone who practices magic or illusion
quotient- the answer in a division problem

Here are the vocab words for February 26.
archaeology - the scientific study of material remains of past human life and
activities.
artifact - an object made and used by people (from anceint to modern day, and
everything in between)
strata - layers of material left behind by people or things at successive
times in history and prehistory.
excavate - to expose to view by digging away a covering
organic material - any material which originated as a living organism (paper
from trees, leather from animal hides...)
compromise- a means of problem solving where each person gives in a bit to
make a decision.
criticism- to give suggestions on how a person should change the way he/she
does something
inferior- the feeling or impression of being less than others
consent- when someone agrees with something and gives permission

persnickety- to be really picky and particular about something (fussy).

We didn't make having a vocab test on September 18, but we will have one on
September 25. The words will be:

The definitions I'll use for these words are:
1. dread- to strongly not want to do something
2. dawdle- to walk very slowly
3. motivate- to get someone to want to do something
4. immediately- to do it NOW
5. sly- a tricky or sneaky person
6. flames- the hot part of a fire
7. forest- a bunch of trees that are together, a type of habitat
8. safe- to not be in danger,
It will take a few weeks to get use to the Thursday vocab test, but once the
kids get into the habit of studying, it is a breeze. The words come from the
various books/stores the kids are studying.
We will begin having vocabulary tests on Thursday. The first one will take
