The Math Fact Calendar is coming home today (September 30).
Ideally, a child could work on his/her facts a bit each night.
Monday night will be the official night for working on math facts.
I would suggest using programs like Math Magician or other
motivating programs. There are so many out there. The goal is for
the student to really know the basic facts well.
As of September 22, 2009 an official rule is added
the Cole Law Book. This rule shall be hereby known
as "The Parents' prerogative".
The rule states:
The Parents' Prerogative Rule will state that parents
can alter the assignment when that assignment is just
too much.
Leave a note at the bottom of page and
that assignment is totally and completely acceptable.
Homework for the Week of September 21

Tuesday- page 165 (1-10)
Wednesday- page 166 (15-22)

Once October arrives, the Monday night
assignment will be studying facts.
It won't be from the book.

So far I have two email addresses in the math e-list.
If you aren't in my homeroom, and you are in my math class,
please send me an email (to Jackbean3@yahoo.com) and I will
add you immediately (or track me down at Back to School Night).
Either way, I will be sure to add you.
Homework for the Week of September 8 is:
Wednesday, September 9: page 21 (8-17)
Thursday, September 10: page 21 (18-21)
In Mr. Cole's class, math homework will begin on Wednesday, September 9. For
those students who aren't in my homeroom, please email me so that I have your
email address. I will set up a listserv for communication purposes. My email
is Jackbean3@yahoo.com.
We will begin switching for math on Tuesday, September 8.
Math books will go out on Wednesday, September 9. A great deal
of our homework will come from those math books.
The kids are taking a pretest this week. It is hard because
it is information they haven't been taught. So they should
most definitely not stress because of it.
