Virtual Manipulatives

This site has so much potential. I am going to create an account for each of
my students. At least that's the plan. After all, it is free!
Glogster

A parent showed me this site, and I am hooked. I am putting various quizzes up
here. It can be used for studying. Enjoy.
Mr. Cole's Quizlets

This fraction activity is fun. On the side of the pie are pieces. What kind
of piece are they? Halves, eighths, tenths? Manipulate the pieces and figure
out what type of piece each one is.
Name the Pieces

This site is good for practicing improper fractions and converting them to
mixed numbers.

I am making a massive Geometry Quizlet. I will keep adding to it throughout
the geometry unit. You can play games with quizlet, take quizzes, and do a
lot of practicing. Use it over and over again. It should help.
The Massive Geometry Quizlet

This site really has potential for creating digital books. I have an account.
I know a number of the kids in my class are potentially great authors. (I hope
they remember me when they become famous). So this could be a route towards
publishing their work online. It is pretty cool.

Polyhedrons

Math Videos about Various Concepts (like ratio)

On Thursday, May 4 and Friday, May 5 the kids will share about the careers
they researched. The main research each child needs to do is an interview of
an adult (parent, neighbor). You can use these questions in your interview.
You can also add on to these questions. Each child should also bring in an
artifact that represents that career.
Career Day Questions

We still aren't done with it. But we will try to be ready to share for the
Night of Excellence (Thursday, April 28). We also will add pictures of the
the presidents from the Portrait Gallery which is our field trip next week.

We are going to collaboratively write another story. But we will try to make
this one more realistic. Nothing from fantasy should be in it. Let's try to
make it as close to reality as possible, but also interesting.

What is nice about a geoboard is that you can make many, many geometric shapes
with this board. My plan is to make a geometry dictionary with it, so that the
kids can have a study book to help them with the many, many concepts in
geometry.
A Virtual Geoboard

I am glad you asked.
