Many thanks to Mr. Dixon (Josiah's Dad) for coming out to talk to us about the
Battalion Chief's position in the Howard County Fire Department. Our next
Cultural Club meeting will be on Monday, March 5th. We will hand out field
trip permission forms for our next field trip that day. We may also have a
special speaker discussing the job, Fundraiser and discussing different
fundraising trends with those of us that are trying to make some money for
different organizations.
Intramural Football and Basketball 2 will start up on Tuesday, February 21st.
Sign up on Mr. Jackson's door starting Monday, February 13th. Registration
concludes on Tuesday, February 21st at 12 noon.
Our next Cultural Club meeting will take place on Monday, February 6th.
Information on our next field trip will be handed out that day. Listen out to
the morning announcements for free tickets to some local college basketball
games.
Intramural Basketball starts on Tuesday, January 10th and runs on Tuesdays and
Thursdays through January 26th, except January 17th. Note this change as of
1/5/12.
Our next Cultural Club meeting is Monday, January 2nd.
The Cultural Club will have it's first field trip on December 16th. We will
be going to the Holocaust Museum and the Martin Luther King Memorial. We will
end the day going to the China Buffet for lunch. $25 includes the lunch and
bus there. We will leave at 8:45 and arrive back to the school at
approximately 2pm. Permission forms are due by 12/13.
Our next Cultural Club meeting is Tuesday, December 6th (rescheduled from
Monday, December 5th because Mr. Jackson will not be in school).

parents pick you up by 4pm.

an FBI agent talking to us at our next meeting.
The Cultural Club announces that any member 12 and under may go to the MEAC
Volleyball tournament for free as long as you have your Lime Kiln ID. The
tournament takes place at the New Gym at Coppin State University. Friday's
times will be from after school through about 8:30 at night. Check the
conference website or Coppin's web site for Saturday and Sunday times.
Intramural Card Playing starts on 11/15. It will run every Tuesday that there
is a full day of school through December 20th. We will play games like
Spades, Jin Rummy, Uno, Hearts, War and Memory.
Intramural Soccer starts on 10/27 and will run on Tuesdays and Thursday
through November 10th.
Intramural Football was a huge success and many thanks to Larry Cadenhead for
serving as our official this year. The teachers won the game 26-12.
What a great playoff and Championship series. Congratulations to the 4th
Seeded R.C. Colas who upset the #1 Lighthouse Lions on the last play of the
game in the semi finals and upset Morgantown in the Championship 22-16 thanks
to big plays by Jordan Cooper in both games.
Intramural football will meet on Thursday this week thanks for a family
emergency. See you on Thursday.
The Cultural Club will meet on 1st Mondays this year, except for April when
wee will meet on April 23rd (the 3rd Monday because of the Spring Break). Our
first meeting date will be 10/3. Make sure you have your parent permission form
to attend the meeting. All meetings will take place in Mr.
Glaze's room and the time the club meets is 3:10 - 4:00 p.m. each time we
meet. Please have your parents pick you up by 4pm.
