ALA - American Library Association Great Websites for Kids - Childrens
librarians evaluate books, magazines, tapes, and software for children to find
the best of all. Web sites are no exception. On this page, we have collected
some excellent sites for young people. "Children" are defined as persons of
ages up to and including fourteen and Web sites for this entire age range are
considered. We will share with you what we look for in a great Web site.

Podcasts are in! Our information literacy unit supported the service learning
LKMS does with the rainforest. Students learned about the rainforest in social
studies, science and reading. They posed questions about the rainforest
inhabitants and used online databases and traditional sources to find the
answers to these questios. Some students decided to share the information they
gathered through a podcast. After compiling the information they wanted to
share, they worked with Ms. Roepke to create an audio/visual project.
