Goals of the PTO

The PTO has established the following 4 main goals for the upcoming school 
year:

1.  Technology in the classroom
    Goal:  To organize events that will raise money to purchase the latest 
technology for use in the classroom.   
    Objectives: 	
     •	To support the requests of the OHES technology Committee.
     •	To add line item to regular PTO budget for technology.
     •    	To organize two PTO events which directly support this goal:
            Black & White Event/Auction and Talent Show for Technology

2.  Enrichment opportunities 
    Goal – To offer a variety of enrichment opportunities for students and  
their families.	
    Objectives:  
     •	To offer at least 1 – 2 new enrichment opportunities 
     •	Survey the parents on enrichment interests
     •	Actively recruit for parents to chair enrichment clubs
     •	Provide opportunities for evening Family Events


3.  Communication
    Goal - Effectively communicate with parents, teachers and staff about 
PTO programs, activities and issues.  
    Objectives:  
     •	To offer a variety of formats to distribute PTO information.
     •	Create and distribute a PTO Master Calendar
     •	Maintain a PTO/parent website which provides pertinent school 
            information and parent oriented material and information.

	
4.  Parent Involvement
    Goal - To support a welcoming environment, increased parent involvement 
and to build upon the school’s sense of community.
     Objectives:  
     •	To increase PTO meeting participation from previous year.
     •	To offer parents an opportunity to take the 2 Hour Power Pledge.
     •	To continuously offer opportunities to become involved with PTO 
            events/activities.
     •	To create a feeling of being welcome in school building and at   
PTO sponsored events.
