Frequently Asked Questions: This page contains answers to common questions of students and parents.
Are papers in the take home folder supposed to stay home?
Please remove all papers each night from the notices and graded paper sections of the Take Home Folder and review them with your children. Papers that are graded provide an opportunity for you to praise your children and/or talk about problems with certain skills that might be surfacing. Other sections of the Take Home Folder have papers that are stapled in since they are meant to be used as as reference.Back to Top

Will I be informed about my child's progress regularly?
Parents will be informed about student progress periodically through e-mail or notes home in the Take Home Folder. If your child is having difficulty, I may also give you a quick call. Please let me know if you notice any problems as well. Please encourage your child to stay for supported study on Mondays and Wednesdays if they are feeling confused or stressed about any assignment. We'll make it fun and get the job done!Back to Top

What is supported study?
Supported study is a quiet place for children to complete homework with a teacher. It is held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:45 - 4:00. I encourage any student who would like that support to come get the job done. Many children find it helpful to finish up at school and not have to bring work home! Feel free to utilize this service if your child gets behind, is out sick, or simply wants to work through their assignments with the support of peers and a teacher. It's fun!Back to Top
