Students typically have two homework assignments each night.
I usually give a Math Study Link and a Reading/Soc.St./or Spelling assignment.
If your child has more than that, it is because they have makeup work or
incomplete classwork. It's also good to keep in mind that every Friday we
will have a Spelling and Vocabulary quiz.No homework will be given on Friday
nights except for makup work if necessary.
As per the homework policy, please be sure to complete your homework and turn
it in when it is due. Unfortunately students who do not hand in their homework
on time will receive a pink slip which parents will have to sign. A second
offense in the same week will result in an academic detention after school. I
know that you understand how important it is to practice your skills and to be
responsible with your work. These are the reasons that I give homework.
All students at Hope Elementary are expected to read every night. The
expectation is that 4th graders will read for 20 min. each evening. You
should also spend 3-5 min. practicing multiplication facts which must be
memorized by the end of the year!
