I love teaching Fourth Grade! Teaching is what I have always wanted to do since I
was a little girl. You will find that although I have high expectations for my students, I
also like to have fun and get messy.
If you know me, you realize that I wear a lot of hats in my life. I'm a mom, a student, a wife, a
lover of kayaking and the ocean. I could never live without the ocean! I also love to read and take
photographs.
This year, I hope that all parents will keep in touch regarding their children's
progress and or concerns. I believe that teaching and learning is a joint effort between the
school and parents and therefore we must stay connected. That is why I've set up the Take Home
Folder. It is a place where I will put notes home and send you pictures of your child & or write you
little notes. I hope you will do the same. The folder will need to come back to school each day so
that it can be updated if need be. Please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any questions or
concerns throughout the year.
We're off to a great start!
In the classroom, it is my intention that students will have many opportunities to feel
successful in a fun, hands-on learning environment. We will often work in groups on
special projects but we will also have individual responsibilities as is the case in real
life. Further more, I feel that knowing the procedures and what's expected helps to eleviate stress and
confusion in the classroom. Therefore, we will spend time throughout the year making sure that we are
clear about various routines. I want all of my students to feel that they are capable and prepared to try
anything put before them. It is always o.k. to make mistakes when we know we can suceed the next
time. Out of our efforts will come learning.
