Journal Entries

Before turning in your journal look at journal expectations in the front of
journal or Jon the 6 Purple web site, Rewrite or correct anything you want.
You may use your S.S. book, the internet and a dictionary to complete these
entries.

In order to get full credit for your journal entries follow the following
guidelines.

1.	Date all journal entries.
     Example: 10/22/2010 or October 22, 2010

2.	Write the questions and then the answers underneath.
3.	Restate the question when you are answering it.
           Example: What is geography?
Answer: Geography is the study of the human and physical
                           characteristics of the world.
    4. A constructive response question should be in complete sentences and
have at least 3 sentences and the first
sentence should restate the question.
	Example:
Why do you like Social Studies?
           Answer:
I like Social Studies because I enjoy learning about different
cultures. Comparing their culture to ours and discovering
the
traditions we have in common is interesting. It is also
exciting
to discover where different ideas and inventions
originated from.

     5. If the journal entry involves looking for coordinates
(longitude/latitude) or looking for places using coordinates listed,
coordinates and/or places should be listed.
	Example:
	70W 43N Eliot, Maine
 6. All answers should be neat and legible. If you don’t have time in class to
complete the journal entry it becomes homework. If you are absent you are
still responsible for those entries.
