Homework for February 13-17

###Language Arts###   
Standing Homework: Read 2 hours minimum per week on your IRB's, even over
vacations. 

Monday: Worksheets in class of plot and characters to be done in group. Work
on your Latin/Greek project due on Wednesday.
Tuesday: Chapter 2 of Of Mice and Men pp.17-27 read in groups in class. Fill
out more info on character and plot worksheets.  Rest of class to work on
Latin/Greek projects.  Tonight work on finishing Latin/Greek projects.
Wednesday: Finish Chapter 2, Of Mice and Men, in class.  Finish the plotline
for this chapter and look for 5 main events that lead to tension/rising
actions. Latin and Greek projects deadline extended one day. Due tomorrow, no
fail.  
Thursday: Presentation of some L/G projects. Starting Chapter 3 in class to be
completed in class on Friday.  Fill out forms.
Last day vocab 5 is accepted is Friday.  
Friday: Winter Olympics.  Read, read, read, of course, over the vacation.

**Social Studies**
Monday- We will read an informational sheet on the Great Depression and an
overview of the thirties. Students will be assigned a number.  The "1"s must
read pages 92-96 (chapters 19 and 20), the "2"s will read pages 97-100
(chapters 21 and 22), and the "3"s will read 104-110 (chapters 24 and 25). 
Homework- Read your assigned chapters and list the five main ideas in each
chapter. (If you are absent, you will be a "3"!)
Tuesday- Notes on FDR and Eleanor Roosevelt. Homework- Read pages 83-91 and
answer the questions.  You can use the answers from the worksheet on the quiz
on Wednesday.  Study for the quiz.  You will be quizzed on the informational
sheets from Monday and the notes on the Roosevelts.
Wednesday- Quiz. 1930s Scavenger Hunt. No homework.
Thursday- Video on the Great Depression. Write a summary of the video.
Friday- Winter Olympics... no classes.

Homework for week of February 6th-10

**Social Studies**
Monday- All work returned. You will grade your participation in the roaring
20s unit. A "Roaring 20s Reflection" is assigned and due on Thursday. 
Remember the best way to show what you have learned is through reflecting. 
Please be sure to be complete, accurate, and remember to include actual
details from the simulation. They must be typed, size 14 font, and single spaced. 
Tuesday and Wednesday- Work periods for Reflection.  As you finish, please
read 83-91 and write a summary 7-8 sentences long.  You will need this summary
for a quiz next week.
Thursday- Reflections due at the beginning of class.  Please print prior to
class! We will watch the 1920s segment in the baseball unit.
Friday- Finish Babe Ruth segment.  No homework.

Monday: Home reading check in.  Finish work on Etymologies for Greek/Latin
projects.  Begin the Keynote, Presi, or hard copy project.  Due date Feb.15th.
Tuesday: Words, definitions, and etyms all due today for HW grade. 
    Finish research worksheet on background for reading Of Mice and Men.
Complete in class on Wednesday and discuss.
Thursday: Complete chapter 1 plot line map/worksheet.  Work on Latin/Greek 
    project, due next Wednesday, Feb. 15th.
Friday: Read in class Chapter 1 and fill out the plot line ws.
Friday: Work on Latin/Greek project due Feb.15th.  Read Chapter 2, Of Mice and
Men.

reading now.  Be sure to 
include the title and author’s name in your review. Your review needs to be at
least six sentences in 
length. This is due Thursday.

Make a list of percents that relate to you.  You need to have at least ten
items on your list.  For 
example: the percent of time you spend reading every day, the percent of time
you spend sleeping 
every day, or the percent of time you spend exercising daily can be some of
the ones you identify.
