ALL BLOCKS:
We have just finished Tuck Everlasting and have taken our test. We are working on a figurative language assessment and other forms of poetry. The figurative language assessment requirement paper will be coming home on Monday 2/6/12.
BOOKMARK Due dates for all blocks:
Bookmark for December is due January 11th.
Bookmark for January is due February 1st.
Bookmark for February is due March 7th
Bookmark for March is due April 4th
Bookmark for April is due May 2nd
Bookmark for May is due June 1st on a Friday.
WRITING:
Requirements will be given for the Figurative Language Assessment on Monday 2/6/12.
Due date for final product will be Tuesday 2/14/12.
Reading: Unit Themes:
We will be starting a mythology unit during the first two weeks of February.
After we finish Mythology.....
How can we define courage?
Students will be assigned a choice of various novels and will be reading in and out of class. They will be keeping a reading log and questions throughout their novels. Novels will be chosen based on current reading ability and interest. Final assessments will vary according to the novel chosen.
Courage Project and IB Two Voice Poetry will be integrated with our reading novels.
