Dee Ames is the band director for the 5th and 6th grade band at Willard
School and the 6th grade band director at C. J. Lamb.
Dee graduated from Deering High in Portland and received a Bachelor of Music
Education degree from Keene State College in 1983.
This is her 26th year of teaching music. She taught K-8 general music,
instrumental music and choral music at the Pownal Elementary School for 12
years. She also taught part time at Westbrook High School for 6 years as the
woodwind specialist for the highly acclaimed marching band.
This is her 14th year here in Sanford. Until recently, she was the general
music teacher and the instrumental band teacher at C. J. Lamb.
Dee lives in Sanford with her husband Skip and their children, Kelli(8)
Kristina(6),and Eric(4). She also has two cats, Maximilian and Penelope. Dee
also has three grown stepchildren and four grandchildren.
In her spare time, she enjoys architecture and drafting, reading mysteries,
quilting, teaching others about foster parenting, and all things DISNEY.
To have a LOT of fun while learning to play a musical instrument.
